Sommeliers, wine-makers, critics and specialized journalists from the USA, Canada, Mexico, Chile, China and Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan, India, Singapore, Taiwan, Australia, Russia, Norway and Switzerland. Speaking with some of them, the impression that they take from the prioratina experience is shared: Priorat wines fall in love; And the landscapes, with their costers and terraces, thrill; And currently the area is experiencing a second revolution, among others, because a commitment is made to the white wines with personality from white Grenache, Pedro Quiménes or Macabeo or other varieties.Tomoko Ebisawa is a senior editor of the Japanese magazine Vinotèque. He says convinced that "Priorat is unique in the world" because it has some very exclusive features that move away from any other wine producing area in the world. Ebisawa is not the first time that he visits the Priorat and explains that he has seen a "clear evolution" in recent years: "has changed the production style and the mentality of the makers. I think we are living a new revolution in the Priorat where now the targets are also taking center stage, "adds the journalist."I am in love with Priorat wines and I also love their targets," he continues. "The problem, for us, is that they are not cheap wines and it costs the Japanese consumer to buy them. Lack of education about wine and for the moment they would prefer to buy a wine that is more affordable for them, "he concludes.A wine tasting of 44 wineries registered in Espai Priorat 2017 has focused the third and last day of this international wine show of the DOQ Priorat.
